7th Annual Norris Invitational Tournament set for March 2-5

It’s that time of year! It’s the biggest and best pickleball tournament in Sun Lakes! Come to play or come to watch. It’s the Norris Invitational Tournament (NIT).

Registration for Sun Lakes residents only is currently open at www.slpcc.net. Non-Sun Lakes residents may participate on a space-available basis and can register starting Jan. 24. Deadline for all registration is Feb. 21.

The annual pickleball event is scheduled for Monday, March 2, through Thursday, March 5, 2020, with March 6 saved for a rain day. The tournament is held at the Cottonwood pickleball courts in Sun Lakes. That means that membership in the Sun Lakes Pickleball Club Cottonwood (SLPCC) is not a requirement for entry or attendance.

The tournament is a round robin/double elimination event with women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles. There are five rating categories for all skill levels from 1.5 through 4.0+, which is a mix of 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 rated players. If there are enough players at 4.0 and above, there will be separate categories for each of those. Prizes are awarded in each category. The SLPCC’s NIT event is huge, and grows larger every year. Last year saw well over 100 teams, so everyone should get their fill of pickleball fun that week, whether playing or watching.

We’d love to see you there, even if you’re not playing. Got questions? Email us at [email protected].
