On Thursday, December 7, a magical evening took place. The Sun Lakes Chorale performed in their annual Holiday Concert. They sang beautifully to a sold-out crowd. The selections were eclectic; the people bundled up on a cold evening were warmed by the chorale, the enthusiasm and heartfelt camaraderie. Friends and neighbors greeted each other and the warmth and affection were palpable, a true atmosphere of our Sun Lakes community.

The marvelous chorale and performers come from all walks of life, different religions and different backgrounds. It does not matter to the gracious Sun Lakes United Methodist Church which opens its doors to the Chorale. The selections were sentimental, reminiscent for some and poignant for others of times past.

Most importantly, the program was dedicated to “In honor of our veterans who have served our country and missed being home for the holidays. We dedicate this program to you and your families. Thank you for your service.”

A most sincere thank you to Cris Temple-Evans, director and conductor; her husband Bart Evans; the special instrumentals; soloists and accompanists who performed with the Chorale. The final musical piece was most touching, “Shalom Chaverim” (“Peace to My Friends”). If only these four simple words could be spread throughout our country during these stressful times and always!
