Next Stop Silverton, by William Lewis

Ann Posiviata

Every once in a decade, maybe, we come across an unforgettable event, person or situation. The Sun Lakes Camera Club has been honored to have been led, mentored and befriended by one such person, John Beamer. Recipient of the clubs’ 2018 Lifetime Honorary Membership, John has shown unwavering guidance in all areas of the camera club’s growth and development. One of our founding stewards, John has earned more than a membership. He has earned a lifetime of friendships! We love you, John!

Featured Image: All Aboard! What a great way to travel. Next Stop Silverton was taken by William Lewis. Bill used his trusty Nikon D800 with 24 – 20 mm zoom lens set to ISO 800, f11, 1/1250 second, white balance 6250 K to capture this iron horse. This train was backing down a siding because it lost pressure in its boiler depleting the power to climb to its scheduled destination, Silverton. Look closely at the smokestack to see the direction the smoke is blowing. Excellent use to practice several skill sets, Bill.
