Anglers finish successful spring fishing derbies

Have any luck?A great day for fishing!

The spring derbies were completed with the ever popular Grandparents Derby; 32 grandchildren enjoyed the outing with the Anglers providing everything to catch fish. Fishing was good. All contestants received a prize. Mother Nature cooperated with a great day. The Grandparents Derby is always the Saturday before Easter. Put us on the calendar for next year.

The Don Johnson talk on bass fishing on local large lakes at Shoppers went off as planned and was enjoyed by all attending. Don also guides when not on the pro fishing circuit. We thank him for making time to do the program.

Activities are funded by proceeds from the Flea Market held on the third Saturday of the month at the SLCC parking lot from 7:00-11:00 a.m. As you know our schools are in a budget crunch. Most are no longer able to afford the cost of transporting children to the derbies so the Anglers are helping using funds from the flea market sales. We need things to sell at the Flea Market. Call Don Herring at 480-802-9320 for drop-off or pick up. The May market will be on Saturday, the 21st. For a booth of your own at the flea market contact the SLCC office at the Clubhouse. Only a $5 fee gets you a spot. See you there.

We meet on the first Tuesday of the month in the Mirror Room SLCC at 7:00 p.m. New members are welcome and like all clubs needed.
