Anglers are ready for a great fall

Our first meeting for the fall will be in the Mirror Room of Sun Lakes Country Club on September 6 at 7:00 p.m.

We are just starting to contact and get replies from area schools. Watch for our column in October for all the dates for our fishing derbies. For any new folks out there, we bring students from area schools out to Sun Lakes and teach them to fish. We usually have 25 children per date and our goal is for six derbies in the fall and six derbies in the spring. We have one derby already booked this fall for November 3. Fishing starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends around 11:00 a.m. Come on out to Lake No. Six behind the Clubhouse on November 3 and try us on for size. It’s always rewarding to see the kids have fun catching fish.

This summer we sponsored one special needs child at the Lions Camp this summer.

We are also gearing up for the first Flea Market on Saturday, September 17 in the west parking lot of Sun Lakes Country Club from 7:00-11:00 a.m. If you have items that you wish to contribute call Don Herring at 605-574-6800 for pick up or drop off. All money from the sales go toward helping schools with transportation and supplies for the derby. The club furnishes all tackle and bait as well as personal instruction.

For more information on the Angler’s Club contact Don at the above number. We look forward to seeing you on Lake No. Six.
