The all-volunteer Technical Team is comprised of the Lighting Team, the Sound Team and the Construction Team. They meet with the director before each show to plan how all the technical aspects will be arranged, according to the director’s vision of how the show will look and sound.

The Lighting Team sets up all the lights for each show, does the technical rehearsal before opening night and during each show, follows the script using a lighting board to constantly change the variety, colors and intensity of the lights.

The Sound Team sets up the body microphones on all the actors in the show, does the technical rehearsal and then during each show, follows the script using a sound board to constantly monitor and alter the mikes when needed so the actors can be heard clearly; the Sound Team is also responsible for adding appropriate sound effects when needed.

The Construction Team creates and paints the background sets and constructs the doorways for entrances and exits on stage, plus arranges for the major props like couches, tables and chairs, etc., that create the backdrop for the play.

The Tech Team members also spend many hours teaching and taking in-service courses to improve their skills in order to provide seamless technical support to all SLCT shows.
