Borrego Springs Was a Hit

Cathie Smith, Secretary

The RV Club stayed at Palm Canyon RV Park and Hotel. We had an out-of-sight time enjoying approximately 40 friends and eating in a top-notch restaurant and saloon at the RV Park. Some were able to get hike at Anza Borrego Desert State Park®, one of the largest in the United States, and also saw the Galleta Meadows’ huge and impressive metal sculptures in the desert. Some RVers also went sightseeing in Julian. Julian is a historic gold mining town located approximately one hour east of San Diego. Not only is Julian a priceless small town, but it is famous for its apples and superb apple pie which really piqued our interest.

The Sun Lakes Roadrunners RV Club is all about fun travel, new adventures, good food, and great friends! The group enjoys many opportunities to see new sights, go on organized tours or explore on their own, dine out or cook at the campsite, and make many new friends.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Sun Lakes Country Club Navajo Room; coffee 6:30 p.m., meeting 7 p.m., with members brainstorming for possible rally sights. Preceding our meeting will be the Spring Fling on April 5, 2020, at Sisk Park in Palo Verde with good food, bocce ball, and a putting contest. Stayed tuned for next month’s Picacho Peak rally report on flowers and friends. Prospective members and visitors are always welcome to come join in the fun!
