Competition Chair, Wayne Divoky; ACCC Representative, Lynn Thompson; Events/Trips, Dale Wiley; PSA Club Representative, Raul Lopez and Website, Bob Little.

Featured Images: Rodeo Cowboy was captured at the Casa Grande All Indian Rodeo held in Casa Grande, Arizona. All participants must be part of a recognized Indian tribe. Steer wrestling, also known as bulldogging, is a rodeo event. Lynn used a telephoto lens and fast shutter speed to stop the action. This image captures that moment with the details, such as the surrounding crowd of onlookers. Making use of his time while waiting for the ferry in the Republic of Ireland, Bill Lewis captured Lobster Traps at Sunset. He took five images with a six f-stop range then used Nik HDR Software to create the final composite. To learn more about HDR and sport/event photography, stop by a meeting or reach out to Lynn and Bill for tips and tricks.

Member/Club News: As Memorial Day approaches, the Sun Lakes Camera Club is once again preparing to assist the Lions Club in the distribution of the American flag for display throughout the Sun Lakes community to those who subscribe to the Lions’ Flag Program. The flags will be placed in the front yards of the subscribers prior to Memorial Day and left out for display through Independence Day. Please reach out to Raul Lopez to sign up to set up and/or pick up at [email protected]. Club meeting is Thursday, May 3, 2018. This will be our first session of the summer, and it will be an on-site photo trip to Goldfield Mining Camp. Join fellow members-only for dinner and photography at the ole western town. Look for details online and via email. Next meeting: Thursday, June 7, 2018. Time, location, updates, news and more can be found at sunlakescameraclub.com. Reminder: there is no competition meeting during the summer session. Enjoy your time shooting!
