Cheers members celebrated their birthdays on September 20 in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club. Everyone who had birthdays in August, September and October were honored; 25 members admitted to being a year older – or do we count backwards on our birthdays now? In any case it was a fun event, always well attended; andgames, food and birthday cake always makes the late afternoon fun. Thanks to Marjean Scheele and her group for always hosting this event, one of our most popular and well-attended functions that we do at Cheers. It was nice seeing some snowbirds coming back to us; the summer has been a hot one here in Sun Lakes but the cooler days are coming – let’s have some fun! More events are being planned for the fall and winter months so check your newsletters so you don’t miss out.

Cheers Singles Club is open to all single residents living in Sun Lakes, Springfield and SunBird. We have weekly socials held at the Poolside Café at Oakwood Country Club every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Visit the welcome table at the entrance to the café for information about our group, meet some new people and enjoy the afternoon. If you can’t attend a social call Ginny Marr at 883-0600 or Richard Lewin at 525-3630 for membership information to this fun group of singles. Be sure to check the bulletin board located right inside the door of the café; it shows a number of events coming up every month.
