Cheers Singles wear red, white and blue

Ann Kisner

It has been a busy time for all the Cheers members who have been here during the hot days of summer. We have been able to celebrate the many patriotic days – Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. Members wore Red, White and Blue as well as the Stars and Stripes to our Birthday Party to help celebrate the holidays.

The Summer Birthday Party celebrating members with birthdays in May, June and July was held in June in the Saguaro Room at Cottonwood Country Club. Due to patriotic days during each of these birthday months, members were invited to proudly wear Red, White and Blue.

Fun dining was enjoyed by those who were enjoying the summer months. May was at Vincitorio’s Italian Restaurant, June at Stone & Vine and July at The Singing Panda Asian Restaurant. The Singing Panda was a fun place for members who had never been there before. Wine Tasting was popular as always. Even in the hot summer evenings, the group was full and had a waiting list.

Please remember that Cheers members are still helping to support Hamilton High School students who are homeless or living in poverty. Donations are accepted at our Thursday Social Hour, or call Sally Wegryn at 203-470-0733 or Sue Agnew at 480-491-3774 for more information.

If you are a single out there living in Sun Lakes, SunBird or Springfield, you are welcome to join us for Happy Hour at Poolside Café in Oakwood on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. We would love to have you as a member. If you want more info, call Ginny Marr at 480- 390-5145 or Richard Lewin at 480-525-3630.
