Members of the Cotillion Dance Club were seeing red at the recent event; however, it was not in anger, it was the decorations and ladies dressed in red for the evening’s Valentine’s Day dance. The candlelit tables decorated in red and white were a perfect fit for the appropriately themed Love is a Many Splendored Thing affair. Dining on beef Wellington, grilled salmon or stuffed Portobello mushroom, the 154 attendees danced to the music of Route 66.

Members were saddened to learn of the passing of Ken Brakebill. Ken and Bettie were active members of the group and their presence has been missed this season. Our thoughts are with Bettie, their family and many friends.

The club’s next event, Dinner and Dancing at Tiffany’s, will be held March 14 in the Oakwood Ballroom. Cocktails will begin at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and dancing starting at 7:00 p.m. Members and their guests are always welcome.

Dances are held on the second Saturday of each month from October to April with the exception of December. April and October are the only two dances that are not black tie events.

There are still a few opening for memberships. For more information on the club or membership please contact Larry and Pat Wolfe at 480-802-2748 or e-mail [email protected].
