Wednesday, February 7, at 10:30 a.m.: Bands of Sisters – U.S. Women’s Military Bands of WWII*

The novelty of these bands drew enough spectators for them to be placed on tour, raising money for the war and boosting morale. Based on interviews with over 70 surviving band members, presenter Jill Sullivan shares this remarkable tale. Sponsored by the Sun Lakes Friends of the Library.

The AZ Paranormal Investigation & Research Society shares locations that are said to be haunted and demonstrates technology that is designed to aid the quest to communicate with souls still connected to these spots.

Thursday, February 15, at 1:00 p.m.: Planning for Social Security – Know the Basics*

Jack Burns, Public Affairs Specialist with the Social Security Administration, talks about requirements, filing options and resources to help you navigate an often-confusing system. Prior to attending, it’s recommended that you create your “My Social Security Account” at http://www.ssa.gov/myaccount/. The uses of this online account will be discussed during the presentation.

Wednesday, February 21, at 1:00 p.m.: Art of Music Classical Duo – A Tale of Two Guitars*

The history of acoustic guitar is told through the story of two guitars. Learn how guitars developed and enjoy representative pieces of music from different eras. A must for the music buff!

Wednesday, February 28, at 10:00 a.m.: Home Safety Awareness – Emergency Preparedness*

In a disaster, local officials and relief workers cannot reach everyone immediately. You and members of your community need to be prepared ahead of time. Regardless of the type of event, there are things you can do to prepare a disaster plan.

*Seating will begin 15 minutes before the program starts. Limit 100 attendees.
