Fit and Fun Wellness Group

Poor nutrition can affect the mind, the body, the immune system and energy levels in ways you may not be aware of. Giving your body the right nutrients and maintaining a healthy weight can help you stay active and independent. As seniors, it’s more important than ever to choose foods that give the best nutritional value. Good nutrition goes beyond weight. It helps improve wellbeing and increases energy levels. It reduces the risk of some diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, stroke, some cancers and osteoporosis. It reduces high blood pressure and lessens high cholesterol. It improves the ability to fight off illness and improves the ability to recover from illness or injury. When you eat right, you feel right and live healthier and better. Healthy eating begins with you! A good first step is to join a sharing group which will help to build a base of nutritional knowledge that will sustain you for the rest of your life.
