All the members had a fantastic time at the Italian Progressive Dinner where the appetizers were at a person’s house, then the guests split up and went to another person’s house for dinner, and then finished up at Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom for dessert and dancing. The best-dressed Italian man was Joe Tucker.

The Fun Lakers will also be hosting our first Masquerade Ball on April 17, 2020, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Oakwood Ballroom. It will be an elegant dress-up event with masks required. This elegant evening will feature a chocolate fountain and the music of DJ Jamal and a $50 cash prize awarded for the “Best” mask of the evening. Pre-registration is due by April 13. You can now register online and pay with credit card at www.funlakers.org. Follow the links to online payment.

The last Dance Party of the season will be on April 16 at the Oakwood Ballroom. The doors will open at 6:15 p.m. with dance lessons by Eddie Gilbertson starting at 6:30 p.m. and open dance with music by Thaddeus Rose from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

We have other events for you, such as Mexican Train, which meets every Monday at 6 p.m. in the Cottonwood Game Room. Euchre is another great event which meets the first and third Tuesday every month at rotating host/hostess homes. Joe and Gloria Tucker are the organizers and can be reached at 812-584-2542 to reserve a spot to play.

One of the newer options is Bocce Ball and Bean Bag Toss Club, playing the first and third Friday of the month at Sun Lakes Phase 1 at Oasis Park. Contact Felix Petrillo at [email protected] to get on the list or get more info.

If you are single and want to meet people, do not forget about our new area of the Fun Lakers called the Solo Fun Lakers. The business cards and flyers for this group will say “Flying Solo.” For more information, you can contact Jeanne Brady at [email protected]. They also meet Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. in Cottonwood in the Ladies Card Room, next door to the Cottonwood Library.
