Gila Crossing school volunteer program seeking a coordinator

Gila Crossing Community School (pre-kindergarten through grade eight) is located within the Gila River Indian community. The Sun Lakes-Gila Crossing Community School Volunteer Program has been in existence for 16 years; the current coordinator is looking to turn over the reins so that the program will continue to exist and grow! As coordinator you will be providing meaningful volunteer work to Sun Lakes residents and GCCS students will benefit from having a volunteer assist them in basic school subjects; a win-win situation!

This position requires organizational skills, a computer for emails and to be a people person. Duties include placing a monthly ad in the Splash and taking prospective volunteers out to school for a tour (so transportation is a must, although the majority of work is done from home)! Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI Level One Security Clearance is required. Approximately five to 10 hours a month – days and times are flexible to suit your schedule! We will work together until you are comfortable working solo.

If you have questions please call Jane Lindsay at 480-802-9965 for more information.
