Golden Goalies – Two challenges

Bea Loozer

Challenge Number 1: Our leader Sharon has mentioned that we’re putting together a cookbook of healthy recipes and tips. So I challenge you to hand-write a recipe or tip if you don’t have a computer and, if you do have one, then email it to Sharon. Thanks to Audrey for the idea and to Janice for offering to bind them.

Challenge Number 2: In March, I wrote an article challenging you to answer some of the questions in a list I provided. I’m wondering whether anyone did. Or is it one of those things like suggesting you eat more quinoa – and you intend to but then don’t follow up. Okay, we’re all human.

So today I’ve selected just four of the items in that list, and I’m challenging you to pick three of those four and write your response on a single piece of paper or in your journal. If you write it on a piece of paper, pass it on to someone you know – maybe someone else in Golden Goalies. Sharing such personal thoughts might not be easy, but you know in your heart that Golden Goalies care, so it’s okay to open up.

– What are three things you’re grateful for?

– What is a hard lesson you’ve learned?

– What is one way you help others?

– Who are three Sun Lakes friends and why they are special to you?

I’m wondering whether you would be willing to share your responses in a meeting. I’m sure that not everyone would, but I’d like to hear responses from those members who are willing to share. But let’s put that idea on hold for now.

Join us to engage with people intent on weight loss. You will also find support, motivation and shared wisdom. Weigh-in is Saturday from 7:00 to 7:40 a.m. in Room A-8, near the Cottonwood Library. The meeting starts after weigh-in. Contact Rita at 895-2559 for more information.
