GriefShare classes begin January 11 at SLUMC

Jean Newell, Associate Pastor

Used wrapping paper and bows fill the recycle bin. Decorations have been packed up and put away for next Christmas. Holiday leftovers are now stored in only one corner of the refrigerator shelf. Finally, it seems the dust from the holiday season is starting to settle. The busyness is behind you, and yet what lies ahead is uncertain, especially now that you are entering the new year without your beloved spouse, family member or friend who has passed away.

Whether the death was recent or occurred months or years ago, you may experience a sense of loneliness that overshadows your life and makes it difficult for you to accomplish even the simplest of tasks. If you are feeling frustrated because you are finding it difficult to move forward with your life because of the grief you bear, consider being part of the Wednesday afternoon GriefShare class at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, January 11 through March 21, 2017, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in Room 4 of the Education Building.

Each class is self-contained, so if you are not able to attend every class, you are welcome to come as often as you can. The class registration fee of $15 covers the cost of the workbook. Register online at www.sunlakesumc.org or at the church office. For more information, call Pastor Jean at 480-895-8766.
