IMGA recorded its first Ace of 2015 when Tom Wheaton scored his on the 13th hole using a Five Hybrid. Tom also scored an Ace last year at Oakwood. I hate when that happens, but, congratulations, Tom. It is a bit surprising that we have seen a drop off in the number of Aces scored this year. I guess the course is getting harder for all us old guys.

Now to the sad and glad at IMGA:

I attended Ed Rosenzweig’s wake recently. Ed, member of IMGA for many years, was a true gentleman and will be missed by his many friends.

Sorry to hear that Len Skeate fell and broke his arm in three places. Thankfully it was his left arm so his ability to enjoy the fruits of the vine will not be impaired.

Long time IMGA member Tom Johnson is recovering from successful hip replacement surgery. Hope you are up and about soon, Tom.

Congratulations to Mario Del Col. He and his wife Teresa celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in August. Yea, and they said it wouldn’t last!

Happy birthday to Bob Burke, a long-time member and past President of IMGA.We wish you many more.

Have you noticed the condition of the greens lately? It seems that Charles Key got a new piece of equipment that brushes the sand on the greens after aerating. It does a much better job of distributing the sand evenly on the green. Now, if only the guy holding my putter could do a better job.

Summer league: There is one more event scheduled for the summer golf league: Palo Verde at 7:00 a.m. (tentative). Contact Steve Kirschner for details.

It has been a rather quiet month for IMGA, but the snowbirds will soon be back and activity should pick up.
