The IronOaks Breakers Pool League has once again played a match with the Mission Royale Billiards Club and the traveling trophy has, for the first time, been taken by the Mission Royale members. This latest match, is the first loss by the IronOaks Breakers Pool League in six one on one matches where each league has eight players, playing a race to three wins for each set, and the non-hosting players move around the four tables to play the other two man teams. The match was a close finish, with the last three matches being the deciding factor in the win by Mission Royale. As the trophy has now been won by the opposing league, the shelf in the IronOaks Clubhouse Billiards Room is empty. A rematch is scheduled for mid-summer and we hope to have the trophy return to our pool room. Stop by and take a look in the Billiards Room at the empty shelf! If you are interested in becoming a part of the League, contact Willie Foster at [email protected], or David Mork at [email protected] to learn more about our league play.

After the recent trip to Mission Royale, just south of the Robson Ranch Casa Grande development, all of the players, many wearing our logo shirts, stopped by the new pool room at the Robson development, Robson Ranch-Casa Grande, to see the new room and the expanded restaurant. The staff was pleasantly surprised to see nine guys with pool sticks walk into the room! IronOaks Breakers League members were very pleased with the new room and the billiard tables were excellent!

Season 4 winners for the league in Rack 1 for 8-Ball, which concluded in May were 1st Bill Lange, 2nd Jerry “Slick” Vickery; 3rd Keith “The Rabbi” McDonald; Rack 2 for 8-Ball winners were 1st Larry “Cuestick” Stadler, 2nd Michael “The Judge” O’Rourke; 3rd Joe “The Deputy” Petkus; 9-Ball had one Rack, consisting of nine players. The winners were 1st Jerry “Slick” Vickery; 2nd Bill Lange; 3rd Willie “The Wizard” Foster.

4,185 rounds were played in the league through the end of Season 4; Season 5 is underway, with 18 players for the Racks in 8 and 9-ball, which ends on August 20. The competition is great, and the level of play is increasing due to the games played over these past three years that the IronOaks Breakers Pool League has played as an organized league.

By winning the top three places in each Rack, the member is eligible for playing in the league championships which will be held at the end of October. Each time a player wins 1st, 2nd or 3rd in any rack, his seeding in the year-end tournament will be higher as the number of wins will determine the number one seed until all winners have been seeded. Mark your calendars for this exciting tournament. Now, let’s play pool!
