John Chow

From Joe D’Amore: “It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of one of our longtime members, John Chow. John was a former Club Champion. I always enjoyed playing golf with John and, from time to time, learning some of his golf techniques. Those of you who knew John, know that he could putt from anywhere and do it accurately!”

Election of Officers

Bob Clark has agreed to run for president. Ross Serold has agreed to run for secretary and Dan Jonker has agreed to run for treasurer. Thanks to these gentlemen for continuing to be willing to donate their time and talents to IMGA. Please consider running for vice president, and let one of the board members know. We also need a publicity chairman, as I will be stepping down effective Jan. 1. If you are interested in running for any position, please throw your name into the hat.

Dan Jonker, Treasurer

Dan Jonker reported that we are just about where we were last year at this time. For the year-end last year, we ended up in the black. For September, we only had three events, so our extra fee was $90. We paid for the shirts for the members, and that amount was $5,144.92.

Dan Smith, Tournament Director informed us that when IMGA play is resumed in October, morning tee times for those who sign up for the “AM” session will start at 8 a.m. on both the No. 1 and No. 10 holes and afternoon tee.

Wayne Karp, Internet Chair

It is that time again to renew your membership for the upcoming 2021 season. This year, we are following the lead of other golf organizations and will be accepting registrations online on the AGA website.

The IMGA and AGA dues have remained the same for the past 10-plus years at $110 for full membership and $45 for handicap-only membership. To encourage the use of the online process, we are adding $5 to the membership fee, making it $115 for those who submit on paper or who submit their membership application after Dec. 20, versus online. Handicap-only membership will rise to $50 for those not renewing or signing up online.

Al McCormick, Food & Beverage Committee Chair reports that he has confirmed that the price increases from BlueStar for food next year will be modest. He is busy working on securing a space for the Member-Guest Tournament. Hopefully, we will be able to have one.
