Why join or attend Computer Booters?

Kc Coller, Publicity Director

If we didn’t have the chance to hear and learn about computer dangers from experienced guest speakers we would surely drown. One such speaker explained how NOT to have Windows 10 installed unwittingly on our computers. Many members that didn’t want it installed while they grabbed a second cup of coffee were able to dodge that Windows 10 issue. Our guest speakers take on the responsibility of passing along the pros and cons of new and old computer issues.

By belonging and attending the club’s general meetings we get that opportunity to hear and learn without leaving our own back yard. September’s meeting brought us William Tully and October 4 will bring us another favorite, Mike Long, owner and General Manager of Advanced IT Solutions in Mesa, Az.

With his vast experience in data processing on Wall Street and Operations Director for a prestigious Manhattan law firm he’ll surely wow us with new thoughts and safety information.

It’s more than amazing to be able to hear from experienced persons about things dealing with computers that we never even ventured to think about whether it’s good or bad.

Another way to learn is to take workshops available to the members at zero cost. Each month from October through April various workshops are offered and announced at the general meetings or in the local papers, on posters and on the clubs web site: www.computerbooters.org. Workshop sign-up sheets are also available at the general meetings.

General Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Navajo Room at the Sun Lakes Country Club, 25425 Sun Lakes Blvd. in Sun Lakes.

Also, each person receives a ticket for one of the door prizes given at the finish of the meeting.

October Workshops (held in the Arts and Crafts Room SLCC unless otherwise posted.
