Tempe Wind Quintet – Friday, July 8 at 11:00 a.m.*

Join us for an enthusiastic performance with a patriotic theme by the Tempe Wind Quintet. The group consists of five seasoned musicians that thoroughly enjoy performing together beginning with Susan Cottrell playing the horn, Lisa Dektor on the flute, Marty Haub performing the bassoon, Peter O’Meara with his oboe and Mark Salita delighting us with his clarinet.

Talking Book Library of Arizona – Monday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m.*

Are you, or someone you love, unable to read the printed word or hold a book? Join us to learn about the Talking Book Library of Arizona, an organization which provides free audio listening services for qualified users.

Hatha Yoga for Self-Care – Tuesday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m.

Hatha Yoga is designed for self-care in order to feel energized, refreshed and restored. Long time yogi, Melanie Albert, offers powerful, positive intentions anchored with music of the Tibetan Singing Bowl. Follow along as Melanie guides attendees through Pranayama (yogic breathing), Hatha Yoga Asana practice (poses with steady movement), and restorative Savasana. This class is open to those new to yoga, as well as experienced practitioners. Please bring your own yoga mat or large beach towel. Ages 18 and over; registration begins on June 20 and limited to 20 participants.

Unwind at Adult Coloring Time – Monday, July 18 at 1:00 p.m.

Adult coloring is sweeping the country and we want you to experience this latest trend in relaxation at your own branch library. If you haven’t heard, adult coloring helps promote our general wellness. Feel free to bring a snack, socialize and relax! Although you are welcome to bring your own colored pencils or markers, all supplies are provided.

Dinosaur Discovery – Tuesday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m.

Ever wonder what color a stegosaurus was or whether T. Rex had feathers? How do paleontologists uncover clues from the past in the fossils they study? Learn the answers to these questions and so much more! Get hands on experience with real fossils to get close to these mighty monsters of the past. Registration begins on July 6. Limited to 30 children, ages 5-12.

Pajama Storytime – Thursday, July 21 at 6:00 p.m.

Go ahead and get comfy in your favorite pajamas, grab your sleepy toy or blanket and come listen to some bedtime stories with your friends. Stories are geared toward ages three and up, but all are welcome with their caregiver.

Trivia Time! – Thursday, July 28 at 1:00 p.m.

Are you addicted to trivia? Do you love to test your knowledge against other trivia buffs? Bring your creatively-named team and compete in a “pub quiz” format. Bragging rights will be awarded to the team with the most correct answers! Please register your team at the Library Customer Service Desk beginning July 7. Limited to 10 teams of two to four members each.

*For these events, please come by the Library Customer Service Desk on the day of the program for a free ticket, limit two per person. Please park in the church parking lot next to the library.
