Lifelong Learning to hold annual membership meeting

Catherine Hammond

New Adventures in Learning, a lifelong learning program, will hold its Annual Meeting of the Membership at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Sun Lakes Center. The election of officers for the forthcoming year, votes to approve amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws and a look at possible changes to the registration procedure make up the agenda. Ballots are due before or at the beginning of the meeting. For current members, these ballots should have come in the mail in December, along with the proposals for changes in the governing documents. Come share refreshments with fellow learners. If you are unable to attend the annual meeting, mail or drop off your ballot beforehand.

Also, please note, an earlier meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at the center to provide an opportunity for questions about those amendments. Prior to these meetings, copies of the current versions, along with the new ones, will be available to review at the main desk.

Registration has begun for spring semester. As always, New Adventures will offer a wide range of topics. Classes include lectures, discussion groups, computer classes and field trips. Complete descriptions, as well as additional information, can be found on the website at www.newadventures.info. Early registration ends on January 12, 2018, and many classes fill by that date. Classes begin February 5, 2018. However, registration by mail or at the center continues throughout the semester for classes with vacancies.

For more information, call 480-857-5500 or visit the Sun Lakes Center at the corner of Riggs Road and Alma School Road. An all-volunteer organization, New Adventures in Learning is affiliated with Chandler-Gilbert Community College. If you are a new member or need to renew your dues this month, the fee will be $25 for the spring and summer semesters both. Add an additional $15 college registration fee each semester you enroll in one class or more. v
