Local Exchange Club honors Arizona children

Last year 75 children in Arizona perished from neglect or child abuse.

The Exchange Club of Chandler will honor these children on Saturday, April 30 at the Sun Lakes Country Club front lawn.

Members and volunteers will erect a “Field of Hope,” erecting a white “Prevent Child Abuse” flag for each child lost to neglect and child abuse. Posters with child abuse statistics will be posted around the field.

Infant caps and booties knitted by club members along with a placard indicating the gender and age range for the child will adorn each flag pole.

There will be a formal program beginning at 9:30 A.M. The program will include a child abuse prevention proclamation by city council member as well as keynote speakers.

The Exchange Club of Chandler is a member of the National Exchange Club, America’s oldest national service organization. Its national project is child abuse prevention, but local clubs also focus on Americanism and youth and community service projects. Members meet regularly to exchange ideas on how to better serve their community. For more information contact Michael at 480-241-9448 or [email protected].
