2/7 and 2/14. The 2017 President’s Cup Champion for the Palo Verde Ladies Golf Club is Mary Fitzke. She played against a talented field of ladies and prevailed in the two-round event. Well done, Mary! The other results were: 1st Flight: Kathryn Campbell, Cindy Bosch and Mary Nelson. 2nd Flight: Jo Crook, Bonnie Moore, Joan Seckels and Pat Tjosvold (tied for 3rd). 3rd Flight: Jan Stuckey, Jan Nelson and Lois Hudson. 4th Flight: Paula Elbery, Susan Lamb, Noella Bannister and Kathy Ivesdal (tied for 3rd). 5th Flight: Karen Ryan, Rita Raymond and Carolyn Currie. Congratulations to our President’s Cup Champion and to all our Flight winners!

2/21. The first round of an Eclectic game was played on a beautiful day this month. The best score is picked between both rounds hole-by-hole. The second round will be played next month. Stayed tuned to find out who the winner will be!

2/28. The night before was rainy, and there were some worries about what the weather would be like the day of the Fewest Putts Tournament. The AZ sun came through in the morning, but was not so willing to shine in the afternoon. The ladies with the fewest putts in each flight won, regardless of their total score. Putts made from off the green did not count toward the score. Those golfers that are good have no advantage over us that can never seem to find the green! The results for the combined morning/afternoon flights were: 1st Flight: Paddy Newton (27 putts), Penny Nowicki and Joan Irwin. 2nd Flight: Lee Sonderman and Sandy Chavez tied with 30 putts, followed by Gwen Curtis. 3rd Flight: Jan Bazzill (29 putts), Liz Campbell, followed by several tied for third place: Judy Dingeldine, Bonnie Kane, Ginger Mays, Marj Rasmussen and Wanda Wiggens.
