National Day of Prayer May 4

Communities all over America will be gathering for the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Every U. S. President since Harry Truman in 1952, has proclaimed by law that the first Thursday of May be designated as National Day of Prayer. The Sun Lakes Women’s Connection is hosting this event at the SunBird Golf Resort, 6250 S. SunBird Blvd., Chandler from 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Len Munsil will be the special speaker. He is the President of Arizona Christian University, a lawyer, former candidate for governor and founder of the Center for Arizona Policy. Mr. Munsil is also the author of the book, Transforming Culture with Truth. Len Munsil comes from a long line of early Americans. From his father’s side, he has five descendants who were signers of The Mayflower Compact and many who fought in the American Revolution.

Pre-program patriotic instrumental music will begin at 9:30 a.m. The morning will include vocal and instrumental patriotic and inspirational music. Among those musicians participating will be the Swing Generation, vocalists Jesse Washington, Terry Kerr and others.

Scriptures and prayers will be led by several individuals from the community. It is a time to pray for our country’s leaders, the military, our communities’ services in government, health, business and families.
