P.E.O. Chapter DD Members Enjoy Luncheon and Presentation

Cathy Bowlby

Recently, several members of P.E.O. Chapter DD, Sun Lakes, gathered at the Sunset Grille in Sun Lakes for a luncheon where they presented a grant check to Brittney, our nominee for a PCE grant.

P.E.O. is an international philanthropic organization which was established in 1869 and promotes educational opportunities for women. One of the philanthropies is PCE, Program for Continuing Education. This program was established in 1973 and provides need-based grants to women whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and their families.

P.E.O. Chapter DD met with and interviewed Brittney and submitted her application to the International project supervisor. The grant committee approved her application and found her worthy of the maximum grant. The check was presented to Brittney at the Sunset Grille. Brittney is pursuing a nursing degree at Mesa Community College and will graduate in December of 2020. She maintains a high grade point average and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
