Here we are in the “Dog Days of Summer” when, even before the first cup of coffee, we search the weather forecasts for signs of relief from the heat, even welcoming the approach of the monsoons with their always-dangerous thunderstorms, gusting winds and possible sandstorms.

Still, every Saturday morning, our heroes assemble at the Palo Verde course, ready to compete as always.

It is our pleasure to report the results of their efforts:

On Saturday, July 15, a Team Stableford tournament was won by Stan Fark, Ken Nelson, Tom Jeub and Bob Keltz with a score of 87.

On Saturday, July 22, a 3-2-1 contest was won by Gary Chadwell, James Granzow, Vaughn Torgusen and Jim Davis with a score of 76.

On Saturday, July 29, another Team Stableford event was won with the amazing score of 101! The winning team consisted of Tom Rainville, Dick Martin, Gene Vogt and Ivan Shaw! Congratulations, gentlemen!

On Saturday, August 5, a 2 Best Ball’s Net competition was won by Ed Johnson, Tony Hames, Hal Newton and Vaughn Torgusen with a score of 98.

Upcoming scheduled events include:

* September 2 – 2-Man Teams, 1 BB Net Flighted

* September 9 – Select-a-Drive, 2 BB’s Net (lunch to follow)
