We are happy to report that the Saturday morning contests continue unabated, even though record temperatures and increasing humidity (especially on the water-drenched, irrigated fairways where the rising sun releases moisture much like saunas in the far north) are testing the resolve of our intrepid golfers!
The results of the most recent Palo Verde Men’s Golf Association tournaments follow:
On Saturday, June 17, a Select-A-Drive competition ended in a tie with a score of 89!
The winning foursomes:
* John Mitchell, Ken Nelson, James Granzow and Tom Burns
* Daryl Ramseyer, James Nottern, Richard Hair and Larry Chidester
On Saturday, June 24, members of the CMGA (Cottonwood) and the PVMGA competed in a “Beat the Pros and Supers” Regular Scramble match.
The Pros and Supers shot a score of 51.75!
The list of members who were awarded prizes for their stellar efforts is much too long to be included in this humble article. Congratulations to all!
On Saturday, July 1, a 2 BB’s Net event was won with a score of 95 by Mike Lorimer, Tony Huffman, Gerald Brock and Larry Chidester!
On Saturday, July 8, a 2 Man Team, Select-a- Drive, Alternate Shots contest was won by:
* Flight 1: Bob Schaedel and Tony Huffman (with a score of 49.5)
* Flight 2: Vaughn Torgusen and Norm Allard (with a score of 51)
