Reiki lead the way

Lois Valleau

As we’re stepping into 2019, we might ask, What does it hold for us; for you?

Now would be the time to reflect on that. What do you want to experience this year? What do you want to be different? What do you want more of? Less of? What do you really want?

There have been times in my life when I have gotten lost in the urgency of appointments, projects, tasks and lists without considering if they are truly connected to what I want in life. I’m not making that mistake this year. I’ll not be “busy” doing and forget about being. I want my daily life to reflect my values, my vision for the year for myself and our world.

During the month of December, I intentionally focused on one of our Reiki Principles: “I treat all living beings with kindness.” That included me, too. I felt I was a kind person, but when I put intention behind it, I experienced incredible joy. Hopefully the recipients of my kindness did as well. I connected with friends from days gone by. I found an easy way to spontaneously share a few dollars with others. I was searching for ways to be kind, and I loved it.

Here are all the Reiki Principles:

1) Just for today, I chose Peace.

2) Just for today, I chose Joy.

3) I live my life in integrity.

4) I treat all living beings with kindness.

5) I show gratitude for all my many blessings.

Answering the initial questions, I want more peace and joy in my life and in my world. I want my country’s leaders to be kinder and more cooperative with each other. I want to see more love and less blame.

I realize I’m wanting for others, but I feel that the more I emulate these traits, the more I will see it in others. Dialog from a favorite movie says, “When the Dodgers win the pennant… it coooooould happen.”

What I know for sure is that when I give myself Reiki daily, my life and world become more peaceful and more joyful. When I am kinder, I am blessed. When I am more loving, I tend to blame less.

If you’d like to see if Reiki might support you finding these answers, stop by the Reiki Circle in Room A-2 of the Cottonwood courtyard any Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. In this room is an incredible group of people emulating similar visions and welcoming you with smiles and hugs.

If you’re wanting to take a class, call Rina Cupples at 480-883-7747 or Lois Valleau at 480-883-6699. You can learn how to give Reiki to yourself and others. Reiki II teaches one to send Reiki at a distance and deepen one’s experience through the use of symbols. Another vision of mine is simple: More people sharing Reiki = more PEACE in the world.
