What do comedian Bill Cosby, movie producer Henry Weinstein, celebrity chef John Besh, TV host Charlie Rose, comedian Louis C.K., actor Kevin Spacey, as well as politicians and numerous others have in common?

If you’ve been following the news, they’ve all been accused of sexual abuse. Some of these men have been fired, some have quit their jobs and others deny the allegations.

The current debate over sexual abuse or harassment will be the topic when the Restless Minds discussion group meets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, in the Sewing Room on Oakwood’s Arts & Crafts Center.

Restless Minds is a loosely-organized group receptive to all people with open, inquisitive minds. There are no dues or membership requirements. All political and social points of view are encouraged. Just show up and participate.

January’s discussion leader Barbara Hug expects to go beyond the headlines and ask tough questions about the issue’s implications, including who should be believed and why. She wonders whether the latest flurry of accusations indicates times have changed about what is viewed as sexual abuse or harassment.

Among other questions she expects to raise: Are both men and women involved as abusers and victims? Should those accused but not proven be fired?
