The Sun Lakes Roadrunner RV Club launched the new 2018-2019 season with a meeting on October 9, 2018, in Sun Lakes and a rally on October 10-14, 2018, in Albuquerque, NM.

Fourteen RVs journeyed to the Enchanted RV Park and Trading Post near Albuquerque to attend the numerous events at the International Balloon Fiesta and explore the surrounding area. Club members watched more than 500 hot air balloons at the “Carry Me Away” fiesta during the predawn display, the mass ascensions, featuring uniquely shaped balloons and evening glows. The club rally organizers, called Wagon Masters, who organized the Albuquerque rally included Al Wilsey, Mary Rudolph, Dale and Roz Nolen, Barry and Ruth Ann McGilvra and Ronnie and Betty Blaschke. They treated rally participants to a homecooked chili soup dinner and a pancake and sausage breakfast. Social hours rounded out the rally when participants enjoyed sharing their various RV and rally experiences.

The next rally is scheduled for November 8-11, 2018, at Eloy, AZ. Participants can watch or participate in the skydiving or the wind tunnel.

The Sun Lakes Roadrunners RV Club meets the second Tuesday of each month in the Navajo Room at the Sun Lakes Country Club. The November 13, 2018, meeting is a special “Welcome Back” social scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by the club meeting starting at 7:00 p.m. Prospective members and visitors are welcome.
