SLCC Bible Study

Doug Ross

The Community Men’s Bible Study has commenced and is now called Faith Matters. The meeting takes place every Wednesday morning from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and is open to any and all men in Sun Lakes. Pastor Jerry McGhee announced that it is led by Doug Ross and the current study series is titled “Jesus, He Said What?”

Sponsored by Sun Lakes Community Church, it is open to anyone. The study is held at the Church Office, 25811 S. Country Club Drive in Sun Lakes Country Club across the parking lot behind Sun Lakes Country Club. It will be held every Wednesday morning.

The first several weeks dealt with these questions/statements made by Jesus. “How is it that you have no faith?” “Love your enemies,” and “Whoever says, thou fool, shall be in danger of hell.”

November topics will include such topics as: “No mercy if you don’t forgive,” “Don’t saw off the branch you are sitting on,” as well as Jesus’ statement, “I did not come to bring peace.”

According to Ross, “We will have a lot of discussion, welcome any questions, provide some coffee and dig into the Bible. Let’s see what Jesus had to say and what he was getting at.”

Ross further said: “Faith Matters – and many are familiar with Hebrews 11:1 – ‘Now, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen…’ The message translation reads; ‘Getting a handle on things we can’t see.’ We have to rely on a lot of things we cannot see or prove. Faith Matters, and there are a lot of faith matters to deal with. We’ll talk about them in this Bible Study.”

Doug is active at Sun lakes Community Church, President Emeritus of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, and over the years has been active in many ministries. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Global Outreach Mission in Buffalo, New York.
