The subject of our February meeting will involve both a photo shoot by members and a talk on ways seniors can help themselves stay safe locally and abroad. Both the photo “models” and the speakers will be judo/jiu-jitsu experts. It takes a young, very athletic person usually at least 12 years to get a black belt in jiu-jitsu. We will have a multi-striped, black belt, and a brown belt available. Photographers can either use cell phone cameras, regular camera with tripod, or flash. We are trying to get some flash triggers and lights set up as well. The types of images you might be able to get are: stop action, face shots, motion blur (a topic for next year), possible monochrome, and maybe some candids. Please come to have fun, learn, and enjoy. We will try to rotate the shooters, so there will be people available to help. New members, this is a great time to meet other club members and socialize and shoot. Please plan to come. After the shoot, Professor Chris Lopez will give a talk on self-defense and awareness.
