Sun Lakes Community Theatre presents Southern Hospitality

Andrea Hummel

A light mist hung over the battlefield as the Confederate soldiers mustered. How many Union soldiers would they face today? How long would the battle rage on? And, more importantly, would they make it home for the big Fayro fish fry?

Yes, it’s another chapter in the Fayro, Texas saga of the Futrelle sisters, their chaotic love lives and their determination to stay together in Fayro.

Staying in Fayro is going to be harder than ever though; the closing of the rendering plant and the Super SmartMart have put the little town in real peril. Their last hope is to attract a salsa manufacturing plant which will provide plenty of jobs to Fayro. The way to do that is with Fayro Days, a multi-faceted extravaganza with a beauty pageant, a petting zoo and a Civil War battle re-enactment.

The fun and laughter is non-stop as Southern Hospitality hits the stage in Cottonwood March 10 through March 14. The Saturday, March 14 show will be a matinee.

Tickets are on sale now from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the following locations: Monday through Wednesday at the Cottonwood Saguaro Room, Thursday, Oakwood Clubhouse and Friday, Sun Lakes Country Club.

For the first time ever, tickets will also be available 24 hours a day online. Beginning with this show choosing seats and paying by credit card can be done by visiting the SLCT website at www.slctinfo.com. The advantages to this method are avoiding lines and making it much easier for out of area ticket purchases.

As in the past, dinner will be available for purchase for Tuesday through Friday nights. A down-home country style dinner will be served: southern country-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, rolls and dessert.

This show is a family-friendly comedy and is suitable for all ages. A no-host bar will be available.
