Worm compost

Worm compost

Pauline Lee

In our meeting on November 21, Gail Latour, Vermiculturist and Master Gardener, will show us a fun and easy way to compost. She will demonstrate the difference from “hot and cold” composting and how we can “amend” the soil to produce great vegetables and flowers. You will find out how worms can turn veggie and fruit scraps into “Black Gold,” an organic nutrient for our soil. Also, you can buy Worm Farms Kits for only $20.00 each to take home to recycle your veggie and fruit discards.

Sun Lakes Garden Club meets on the third Tuesday of every month. The group gathers at 9:00 a.m. for social time and refreshment, with meeting to follow. The meeting site is Sun Lakes Chapel Center, 9230 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. (located across the street from the Sun Lakes Country Club and next to the Sun Lakes Chapel). Visitors are welcome. If you want more information or are interested in becoming a member of the Sun Lakes Garden Club, please contact Club Secretary Starla Kramer at 480-540-8080 or visit our website at www.sunlakesgardenclub.com.
