Sun Lakes Rotary Teacher for the Month of March Allison Davis

For the month of March Sun Lakes Rotary had the pleasure to honor Allison Davis, kindergarten teacher from Knox Gifted Academy. She and her Principal Ruth Michalscheck, attended one of our meetings recently to receive recognition for her great achievement. It was our pleasure to award her a check for $200 through a partnership with Trust Bank of Arizona. Allison also recently won the Presidential Mathematics Teacher Award and will be honored at the White House. How fortunate are the kindergarten students at Knox to have such a gifted teacher. Such a start in mathematics will certainly give them a good start in their academic careers. Her principal tells us that Allison is an exceptional teacher who goes above and beyond to adapt her lessons to be problem-based and relate learning to real life concepts, even in kindergarten. She prides herself on furthering her understanding of teaching mathematics. She also mentors new teachers and is always willing to help those who ask for advice on making math meaningful.

Sun Lakes Rotary members thank Allison for all her good work and rejoice in the opportunity to offer their support to all our great teachers.
