The Arizona Wind Symphony with Irish dancers

Come join the Arizona Wind Symphony along with featured Irish dancers and a bagpiper on Wednesday, January 16, at 7:00 p.m. at the Tempe Center for the Arts for an evening of invigorating as well as soulful music and dance. The program titled “Celtic Spirit – Dancing in the Isles” will include Leroy Anderson’s “Irish Folk Suite,” a collection of familiar Irish music such as “The Irish Washerwoman,” “The Wearing of the Green” and “The Last Rose of Summer.” The jig-like music of “An Irish Party in Third Class” from the motion picture soundtrack “Back to Titanic” will have your toes tapping. Also included will be the “Suite from Hymn of the Highlands” by Phillip Sparke, a three-movement piece which gives various musical images of the Scottish Highlands, culminating in a battle-like scenario.

The next performance “Into the Future” will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.

The Tempe Center for the Arts is located at 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85281, website: www.arizonawindsymphony.com.
