Unity summer vacation

Kay Davis

Unity Church of Sun Lakes is a spiritual community that focuses on peace, love and healing. We follow the teachings of Jesus as well as other spiritual masters. We pray affirmatively to align ourselves with the Truth we know is in all of us. We will be on summer hiatus for the months of July and August and will return to regular schedule on September 9. Our regular Sunday celebration is held at 9:30 a.m. in the Arts and Crafts room of Sun Lakes Country Club, and Rev. Debbi Brown/Adams presides. Francine Alexander is our new music director and will be joining us September 23. We are very excited at having her join us, as she has much experience playing and singing at the Unity Church on the big island of Hawaii where she and her husband lived.

Once a year in the middle of the winter months, we have a Sunday which is designated as “new member Sunday.” In April, we officially welcomed Mary Padula, Betty Gardner-Tuzzolino, Julliette Bristow and Orland Adams as members of Unity Church of Sun Lakes. Lee Gehrig was unable to make it that day and was welcomed the following Sunday. We are grateful to have these souls be a part of our Unity community. We see your shining light and behold the Christ in each of you.

If you are traveling this summer, we affirm for you a safe and enjoyable trip, and we will be waiting for you on September 9 with open arms. If you are here in Sun Lakes, you might want to check out other New Thought churches in the area. They should be listed under Unity or Centers for Spiritual Living on the internet. The 103rd Annual International New Thought World Congress will be held in Phoenix-Scottsdale at the Embassy Suites from July 24-28. Rev. Debbi will be one of the speakers Saturday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. For more information, call 480-830-2461.

Activities are as follows: Reiki will continue to meet in July and August every Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. in Room A-2 in Cottonwood Country Club For more information, call Lois Valleau  at 480-883-6699.
