FDA ruling now officially allows dogs to join owners in outdoor dining. The only caveat is that restaurants, bars, and cafés are still allowed to make their own rules about whether or not they want to welcome dogs.
Being out and about is much more fun with the company of our four-legged friends, and now you can dine together. These fun outings assist in socialization, learning manners, and enrichment. From restaurants and bars to the stores that gladly open their doors to our fur babies, both you and your companion will get lots of love at these locations!
Before you go:
1) Call ahead. This list is not all-inclusive. It is recommended to call ahead to verify you are welcome, as it is at the discretion of each store manager.
2) Traveling. When traveling to your destination, do not forget to use your dog seatbelt harness or a kennel for their safety as well as yours.
3) Be responsive. Please be responsible and prepared to clean up an accident. Not only is it the right thing to do, but it will open the door for new businesses to invite your best friend to join you.

Some things to consider:
Always call the place of business to make sure they allow pets. Have your dog on a non-retractable leash (you may want to consider a harness) for the safety of your dog and other shoppers. Provide water, and take cleanup supplies with you. Be considerate. Some shoppers are afraid of dogs. Be prepared to leave with your pet. If you have a small dog, consider using a backpack or carrier for your precious pup. Make sure your dog is well behaved. We want other businesses to open their doors to pets. Start small to ensure your dog can handle large crowds.
