In many ways, America is the land of plenty. But for so many, hunger is a reality. Many people believe that the problems associated with hunger are confined to small pockets of society, certain areas of the country, or certain neighborhoods, but the reality is much different.
Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank has been feeding the hungry since 2001. Reach Out Sun Lakes has been collecting food for Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank for 16 years. We pick up from several groups in Sun Lakes.
Our groups have been donating monthly for many years. So far this year, our pick-up totals are 653 pounds of food and $2,356 cash through June. The groups we pick up from are Sun Lakes Bridge Club, Unity Church of Sun Lakes, Sun Lakes Country Club (donation box at front desk during working hours), and the Democratic Club of Sun Lakes.
