Our “informal” Summer League wrapped up a couple weeks ago, so now it’s about time for league play to start. Eight teams, four in each of the Lakes and Sun Divisions, will open their seasons on Oct. 29. Detailed information regarding signing up for the fall session will be on our website, www.sunlakessoftball.com. It is imperative that everyone interested in playing sign up and pay their league dues prior to the deadline. Team rosters and schedules will also be available on the website. League play includes two doubleheaders every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday during our fall, winter, and spring sessions. In addition to league play, we have a recreational program on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays that includes batting and fielding practice and sometimes pick-up games. We also have a ladies’ team, the Sun Lakes Sluggers, that plays in the Valley of the Sun League against other teams throughout the Southeast Valley. They’ll begin practices in November.
