The Agavé Quilters met on Oct. 5. Our new board members shared their quilts as a way of introducing themselves to the general session. Georgia Hartman shared her whimsical “Sasquatch” quilt, while Dennie Sullivan showed a “Wooly Ewes” friendship group project for Thanksgiving.
Our next meeting on Nov. 2 will feature a presentation by Mad B’s Quilt Shop, and the UFO challenge will come to a close as finished projects are shared. As always, there will be several drawings for all who wear their name tags at the meeting.
Reminder that our Agavé Quilters Boutique will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club, at 25601 S. Sun Lakes Blvd., in Sun Lakes. This is a great chance to get your holiday shopping done or spoil yourself with one of our unique, handcrafted items such as quilts, tote bags, placemats, coasters, holiday items, and much more. It’s also your chance to purchase raffle tickets to win one of these gorgeous opportunity quilts, “Tranquility” and “Winding Roads.” They will be on display at the Boutique and will be raffled off in March 2023. Tickets are on sale now!
Agavé Quilters Guild is open to new members of all skill levels. General meetings are held September through May on the first Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club. Each meeting features a guest speaker, a brief business update from the board members, and a “show and tell” session allowing members to share their projects with the group.
For further information, please contact President Betty Bogaard at bbogaard10@gmailcom or Membership Chair Dennie Sullivan at [email protected]. We look forward to welcoming you to our Agavé Quilters Guild, the original Sun Lakes Quilt Guild since 1995!
