At our April 5 meeting 50 quilts were shared by our members for an Antique Quilt old-fashioned bed turning. So many wonderful stories of quilts being handed down from generation to generation were shared. Many of these gems were “well-loved,” some had very little binding, and several had holes in them, but they were all beautiful. One quilt was created in the late 1800s, and most, if not all, were hand-sewn with the most meticulous stitches. This was one of our most well-attended meetings this year!
Our Show and Tell had a variety of items shared as well. Shari Davison-Lundine showed her art quilt, and JoAnne Robertson presented her modern quilt. The quilts were the results of classes taught by Marti Kellogg and Mary LaTourelle.
Our UFO challenge (Unfinished Objects) last summer was such a hit that we’re inspiring our members to complete projects again this summer! At our May 3 guild meeting, members will bring in a maximum of five UFOs they plan to finish by November’s meeting. They don’t have to be quilts, as so many of our members work on various other projects. Can’t wait to see the variety of completed items!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be having a Holiday Boutique in November, but we are planning to hold one in November of 2024.
Agave Quilters Guild is open to new members of all skill levels. General meetings are held September through May on the first Wednesday of each month.
