March started with the Monthly Ace of Aces qualifier on the 2nd. The low gross and low net scores from each flight will qualify for the Ace of Aces tournament at the end of the year.

On March 9 and 10 the annual Jack Kinney Member-Guest Championship was played by 77 two-man teams. The event is sponsored by A-1 Golf Carts. The two-day team event included a 9-hole alternate shots score, a 9-hole one net team score, a 9-hole select-a-drive one low net team score, and a 9-hole two net team score. There were four flights divided by the teams’ total handicap.

On March 16 there were two events played. One was a CMGA versus CLGA match play event, with most matches being played with equal handicaps. There were 33 matches played, with the CLGA winning 16 matches and the CMGA winning 15 matches. There were two ties. Also played was a Low Gross/Low Net by an additional 20 members in one flight.

The annual Oakwood versus Cottonwood Home and Home was played on March 21 and 23. The format was a two-man team from each group playing a match with the winner of the front nine, the back nine, and total getting a point from each side. Each day’s competition ended with refreshments and socializing. The MOGA men built an 87 to 57 point edge on their home course on Thursday and followed it up with another commanding 87 to 57 point showing on the Cottonwood course on Saturday. Bragging rights for the next year go to the men of Oakwood.
The Finals of the Presidents Cup were also played this month. After defeating seven opponents each in head-to-head match play, Bob Lewis and Steve Howard competed for the title and prizes. Bob Lewis defeated Steve, and he is the 2024 Presidents Cup Champion.
April included the annual Ryder Cup two-day competition; a Blue, White and Gold Tee challenge; an Ace of Aces qualifier; and a two-day Cottonwood versus Palo Verde team event.
