The planned Jan. 8, 2022, dance has been canceled. The member/guest survey concluded on Nov. 8, and results indicated an insufficient attendance forecast for the upcoming January event. Forty percent of polled members and guests indicated they “would attend the January dance based on information available at this time.” We need a minimum of 65% to fund the first dance.
A new survey to determine the attendance forecast for the Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, dance will be sent out on Dec. 10. If you do not receive an email containing the survey, you can respond via email regarding your attendance intentions.
Cotillion Dance Club plans to present two dinner dances to be held at the Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom in Sun Lakes. Be sure to mark your calendars with this season’s remaining dinner dance dates: Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022; and Saturday, March 12, 2022.
These dinner dances will be formal affairs beginning with a champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception featuring live instrumental music. The ballroom will be decorated for each themed dance. We are looking forward to another season of prompt and courteous service from the Cottonwood staff.
The dance music for next season will be provided by the Rags Allen Band, in a special band configuration that includes vocals from Gene Mann. You can also enjoy this band in a more casual setting at the upcoming Sunday Night Dance Club events. Visit www.sunlakes-sundaydanceclub.com.
Any level of dance experience is welcome at our events. Most couples just want to be together on the dance floor all dressed up listening to live, romantic music. But, if you want to learn a new dance step or just brush up, we offer group lessons on the Friday before each dance at 10 a.m. until noon, in the Sun Lakes clubhouse Mirror Room (Sun Lakes Phase 1). Our thanks go out to Lisa Bianco at Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Chandler for her sponsorship of our dance club. These lessons are fun and are taught by professional instructors, and are not intimidating at all. Try it, you’ll like it! Lessons are $5 per person. Pay at the door when you arrive.
