The wonderful folks at Intel have joined in the fun of refurbishing used greeting cards. Crystal Cards (CC) volunteer Connie Hogan is our Intel liaison, working closely with Susan Schultz, Intel’s program manager. Together, along with many other volunteers, they have established two very special programs. First, CC made over 1,100 Christmas cards for Intel. CC also supplied 590 additional cards to be completed by Intel employees. These cards will be personally signed by Intel employees and then sent to active military members and local veterans—a beautiful way to spread some Christmas cheer all over the world.
CC has also provided Intel with cards to be given to a local elementary school for use in the students’ writing program. The students choose any card they like, write a message in it, and give it to a parent, sibling, friend, etc. Intel’s generosity doesn’t stop there. For every hour volunteered by an Intel employee, Intel donates $10 to the charitable organization. We should all be very grateful for Intel’s willingness to give back to so many individuals and organizations.

Our next workshop will be held in the Ceramics Room in Cottonwood on Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. There will be no workshop in November. More information can be found at our website, www.thecrystalcardproject.org.
