Back by popular demand! Have FUN. Exercise your brain. Hundreds of your neighbors have taken enjoyable, stimulating FUN da MENTAL bridge lessons over the past several years.
Boot Camp Bridge. Classes are Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m. at Risen Savior Lutheran Church for four weeks (March 1 through March 22) for $72 for the series, plus text, available at a discount from the instructor, or individual sessions at $20 each. Classes cover Stayman and Jacoby Transfer Conventions, opening strong hands, slam bidding, and a preview of competitive bidding. Two-Over-One Game Force and Slam Bidding. Two-over-one game force is a modification to Standard American Bidding. It is a much more effective way to bid your games and, importantly, your slams. We will also cover slam bidding through the use of Jacoby 2N and Splinter bids. In six weeks, revolutionize your bridge bidding. Classes are Monday mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. in Cottonwood, Room A-7, for six weeks (March 27 through May 1) for $72, plus text. Contact instructor Maria Davis at 480-883-2826 or [email protected].
Thursday Morning Novice Duplicate Bridge Game. This is a practice-type teaching game for novices and social bridge players interested in learning about duplicate bridge and improving their skills in a relaxed atmosphere. There is a 15-minute lesson at 9 a.m., followed by playing duplicated hands related to the lesson. During bidding of the hands, you may ask questions. Everyone is welcome, with or without a partner. Duplicate bridge can be fun! Please arrive at 8:40 a.m. to purchase an entry: $10 for non-members and $8 for members. Games are Thursday mornings from 9 to 11:45 a.m. at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, at 23914 S. Alma School Road, in Chandler. Games are held weekly from October through May.
