Over Veterans Day weekend, Nov. 9 and 10, 55 volunteers collected a total of $15,600 in donations for veterans who are hospitalized, at-risk, and experiencing homelessness. Jewish War Veterans Post 619 was assisted by volunteers from the Ahwatukee American Legion and their auxiliary, as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Fry’s Food Stores generously allow the Jewish War Veterans Post 619 to use seven of their stores on Veterans Day for their Poppy Campaign to raise money for veterans. The money is distributed by the Post throughout the year to nonprofit veterans organizations and select Phoenix Veterans Administration programs. We are humbled by the continued generosity of the East Valley.
