Craig Lloyd, Commander, SLSP
Please join me in congratulating Kevin Steffee for completing the rigorous Qualified Armed Academy (QAP) at the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and receiving his certification.
As a fully vetted law enforcement volunteer, QAP Posse member Kevin Steffee is qualified and trained to back up deputies on all calls for service.
Kevin has been a member of the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse since 2016 and has been a volunteer with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years. He was born in Germany and attended high school in Glendale, Ariz.
Kevin’s primary duties include patrolling the Sun Lakes residential communities and local businesses. He assists sworn deputies on calls and acts as a separate set of eyes and ears in our communities.
Kevin also serves as the training officer for the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse.
“Sun Lakes is a great community,” according to Kevin. To “help someone on their worst day and try to make a positive difference” is Kevin’s motivation. In addition to the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse, Kevin is in a leadership role with the Department of Homeland Security/TSA.
We are proud to have such high-quality individuals as Kevin on our team serving our Sun Lakes Community.
